Frequently Asked Questions

1. What kind of experience do I need to join a trip?
We tailor each tour to the participants’ level as much as possible. However, some trips — especially alpine climbs or more complex ski tours — require a certain level of experience. Each program description specifies the recommended skill level.

2. What’s included in the price?
All our trips include professional guiding by an IFMGA-certified mountain guide, group safety equipment (ropes, anchors, etc.), and full tour planning and logistics.

3. What’s not included?
Travel, food, accommodation, and personal gear are not included unless otherwise stated. You’ll need to bring your own skis, boots, clothing, avalanche gear, and other personal equipment.

4. How many guests per guide?
This depends on the activity. For alpine climbing we typically guide 1–2 guests per guide, while ski touring groups can be up to 6 people per guide.

5. How long does a typical day last?
A normal ski touring day in Romsdalen lasts around 4–6 hours, including short breaks for food, hydration, and clothing adjustments. We usually climb between 800 and 1500 vertical meters — but the focus is always on finding the best skiing, not necessarily reaching the summit.

6. What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety always comes first. If conditions don’t allow for the planned objective, we’ll do our best to find a safe alternative or reschedule the trip for another day.

7. Can I rent equipment from you?
Yes, we have a small selection of technical gear for rent — such as crampons, ice axes, and avalanche safety equipment. Skis, boots, and personal clothing must be brought by each participant.

8. How do I book a trip?
Simply send us a message through the contact form or give us a call. We’ll get back to you with availability, pricing, and details about the trip.

9. Where are you based, and what areas do you guide in?
We’re based in Romsdalen, Norway, and guide year-round in both Norway and the Alps. In winter we focus mainly on ski touring in Romsdalen, and during summer we offer alpine climbing and mountaineering trips in Norway and Chamonix.

10. Who is the guide?
All trips are led by Alexander Nordvall, an IFMGA-certified mountain guide with extensive experience guiding in Norway and the Alps. Depending on the program, we also collaborate with other qualified IFMGA guides to ensure the highest professional standard.
